Anchorage, ALASKA (KTUU-TV)
Tracy Sinclare speaks with the author of a graphic book about Parkinson's disease. Peter Dunlap-Shohl is a name recognizable to many Alaskans who used to read his comics in the Anchorage Daily News. The book he has authored and illustrated looks at the symptoms and disease he now battles.
Dunlap-Shohl says he wrote the book to help others.
"I got a great note from a guy, says he keeps it on his bed for when he's really depressed and he laughs," says Dunlap-Shohl. "That was the best reaction I could imagine [from] the book. It was a comfort to him and that was what it was meant to be."
