A South Lyon man is offering fitness courses in Troy designed to help people with Parkinson’s disease ease their symptoms.
Mike Demeter, 47, recently attended a conference hosted by the United Isshinryu Karate Association in Florida to gain knowledge on advanced techniques for his fitness courses at 6 Degree Burn Fitness Studios, 1825 Brinston Drive in Troy.
Demeter expected to learn exercises that will reduce stiffness and improve mobility, posture and balance.
Demeter, a certified martial arts instructor with more than three decades of training and teaching experience, decided to implement his knowledge of fitness to help people battling the disease. The program he has built is based on aerobic and learning-based memory exercises. Registration is always open.
Demeter invites facilities and Parkinson’s classes to host on-site demonstrations for those interested in learning more about the program.
