An elderly woman who is battling Parkinson's disease has been granted a special wish to ride a horse one last time and relive her days as a prized show jumper.
The woman, 87-year-old Ms. Jacobs, devoted her life to horses, but has been bed-ridden for years, paralyzed by the debilitating effects of Parkinson's.
However, her dream of a final ride was turned into a reality as part of a joint effort between organizations; The Care Group and the Green Cross and their project, 'Hidden Desires'.
Special day out: Ms. Jacobs was granted one wish by some charity foundations, and is seen here meeting a horse that she would later ride
The aim of 'Hidden Desires' is to bring joy to those who are dependent on care.
Previous projects have seen the organizations take a man to a sports game and a woman to a beauty salon before seeing her grandchildren.
But this time, for Ms. Jacobs, who lives in the Netherlands, it was a very different experience.
Hardly able to move or even talk due to her disease, she was taken to a place that deals with equine-assisted therapy, which can be used to treat physical problems for people with special needs.
Ms Jacobs was lifted up onto an awning inside a carriage that had been placed over two horses.
She was made comfortable and told of what was going to happen by her son, who was on-hand, and then the carriage was taken around the facility by a driver.

Ecstatic: In the video of the special moment, Ms. Jacobs is beaming from ear to ear at being on a horse again
