In Italy, Parkinson’s disease affects about 220 thousand citizens.
(Not in English)
A
figure that worldwide reaches almost 5 million. This is the most common
neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer’s disease that occurs in people over
the age of 60, but some people develop the disease much earlier in life. In
Italy, on November 26, the National Day dedicated to this
disease will be celebrated on the initiative of the Italian Academy of
Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders and the Italian Society of Neurology
(SIN). For the occasion it was reaffirmed the importance of early diagnosis in
the fight against this disease, as timely and targeted therapeutic intervention
can slow its progression.
