Bengaluru: Doctors from Kings College and Imperial College Hospital, London announced the launch of three methods of treatment for Parkinson’s Disease (PD).
Speaking with media persons in Bengaluru on Monday, Dr. Prof. Ray Choudry spoke on motor symptoms of the disease. “So far people are aware of the motor symptoms but majority are not aware of the non-motor symptoms. So, we have decided to launch this book in June. This book will provide information on all symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease,’’ Ray Choudry said.
Talking about the PD, Dr. Natalia Titova said that the disease had been a great challenge in the world.
“We have developed these methods replacing the traditional methods. Our concentration is mainly on the non-motor symptoms. People usually are not aware of the non-motor symptoms,” Dr Natalia Titova said.
Dr. Prof. Ray Choudry said India was more prone to PD. “Those exposed to pesticides and chemicals are vulnerable to PD. This includes farmers in the villages. Though the real reason for PD is yet to discover, doctors have learned that gene disorder could be one of the main reasons for it. According to him this is also learned that the decedents of those who have PD are more expected to get the disease in a row,’’ he said.
Dr. Vinod said that these three methods of treatment would be introduced soon in India so that people do not need to go to London for the treatment.
