Aims to challenge negative portrayals of people with the disease
Portugal-based pharma company Bial has launched a video campaign, ‘Me At My Best’, to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease.
People who have been diagnosed with the progressive neurodegenerative illness were invited to appear on the video to help show others with the disease that it is possible to live a normal life.
By doing so the video also aims to “counter the negative portraits of people with Parkinson’s”, shows the volunteers performing daily tasks such as buttoning up shirts, putting on make up, and playing the guitar.
António Portela, CEO at Bial, said: “Hopefully, we can inspire and empower the millions of people living with Parkinson’s to never give up on their dignity.
“Bial’s aim is to help the lives of people with Parkinson’s even it it’s to help with one small thing at a time.”
The campaign will officially launch in April for World Parkinson’s Day on April 11
