Kota Kinabalu:
The inaugural Parkinson's Disease Public Forum will be held at Gleneagles KK Hospital, here, on June 17.
The forum is jointly organised by the Parkinson Support Group Kota Kinabalu and Gleneagles KK Hospital with an aim to create more public awareness on Parkinson's disease, especially the signs, symptoms and the treatment.
Consultant neurologist at Gleneagles KK, Dr Chris Chong, said the forum will feature four speakers who will be covering four topics – "What is Parkinson's disease?", "Life goes on – Living with Parkinson's disease", "Physiotherapy and benefits of exercise for people with Parkinson's disease" and "Support for people with Parkinson's and their carers."
"The public, especially those with Parkinson's disease and their care givers, should attend the public forum as the information provided in the forum will help them gain more knowledge about the disease and listen to others' experiences in coping with it," Chong said in a statement, here, Saturday.
