9th Annual Speedy PD race benefits Parkinson's Disease

August 26, 2017

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -

The 9th annual Speedy PD Race for Parkinson’s took place on Saturday at Tuttle Creek Park in Manhattan, and it had some of our WIBW crew hanging with Willie the wildcat.

The run benefits the Meadowlark Hills Parkinson Fund, which works to improve the quality of life of those living with Parkinson's.
WIBW's very own Melissa Brunner, Doug Brown, Eric Ives, and Rob Peppers, who is living with Parkinson's Disease himself, participated in the race.
Michelle Hub with the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program said money coming in is looking great.
"Our sponsorship, we had over 57 sponsors this year and have brought in in cash donations and in kind donations over 45 thousand dollars," Hub said.
Saturday’s race was also a record for participants with nearly 800 people attending.
