Old Orchard Beach, Maine (WMTW) The Michael J. Fox Foundation Rallying for the 10th Annual New England Parkinson's Ride in Old Orchard Beach.
More than one thousand cyclists were on the road in Old Orchard Beach Saturday, raising money for Parkinson's research, taking on 10, 30, 50, and 100 mile routes.
Organizers say the event also brings awareness to lesser known facts about the disease.
"People that don't know about Parkinson's think about Parkinson's disease as someone in their seventies or eighties and there's a whole bunch of us diagnosed under age 50." Says N.E. Parkinson's Ride Board Member, Chris Woods.
The ride has raised more than $3 million since it began.
