A SHEPSHED football club has raised nearly £600 for charity after staging its annual charity match.
Ingles FC held the match at Little Haw Lane, Shepshed, on December 30 to raise money for SITraN, based in Sheffeld, which is one of the world leading centres for research into Motor Neurone Disease, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease.
Club chairman Wayne Belcher said: “The match again was a huge success and the club at present has raised over £591 for SITraN thanks to all the local support from players, friends and family also big thanks to our local sponsors octopoda.co.uk, The Pied Bull and Eleven44.
“The charity was nominated this year as it’s close to one of our players and connected friend’s hearts having lost loved ones to motor neurone disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.”
