Methodist offers Parkinson’s support group, kickboxing and yoga classes

Methodist Hospitals offers a variety of programs for patients with Parkinson’s disease. Listed below is the schedule of summer programs in June, July and August:

• The Kickboxing Class for Parkinson’s patients promotes muscle memory, coordination and balance. This class is held 11 a.m. to noon every Monday at the Southlake Campus, Pavilion D Group Room, 303 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.

• The Yoga Class helps Parkinson’s patients increase their flexibility, improve posture and loosen tight, painful muscles. This class is held 9 to 10 a.m. every Thursday at Southlake Campus, Pavilion D Group Room, 303 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.

 The Parkinson’s Support Group is for friends and family of loved ones diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This support group is held the third Monday of each month, noon to 1:30 p.m. at Southlake Campus, Pavilion B first floor conference room, 200 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.
