Moving Day Venice - A Walk for Parkinson's-Parkinson's Foundation

August 30, 2018

My name is Megan Willard and I am the Community Development Manager for the Parkinson’s Foundation.

On Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 people will join together at Maxine Barritt Park to raise funds, increase awareness and celebrate the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease at the first annual Moving Day Venice, A Walk for Parkinson’s.

As the national signature event of the Parkinson’s Foundation, Moving Day is taking place in 39 communities across the United States in 2018. Last year, Moving Day brought together over 14,000 participants on over 1,600 teams and raised $3.9 million to help the Parkinson’s community.

Funds raised through Moving Day:
·         Deliver quality care to more than 100,000 people living with Parkinson’s;
·         Fund cutting-edge research aimed at better treatment and care;
·         Provide free resources for people living with Parkinson’s and their families.

Moving Day is more than just a walk. It is a fun and inspiring event that raises awareness and funds while uniting families, friends and communities in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. Each event features our unique Movement Pavilion, with yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, dance and other activities proven to help manage Parkinson’s symptoms.

How you can help:
·                     Start a Moving Day team or join one at    MovingDayVenice.org (no registration fee)
·                     Spread the word to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers
·                     Join the Moving Day Venice committee or volunteer at the event
·                     Become a Moving Day Venice Sponsor

I welcome the opportunity to discuss the many ways to get involved. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 816.462.9506 or mwillard@parkinson.org.

I look forward to speaking with you soon,
