Neurologist Sanjay Yathiraj to speak on Parkinson’s and sleep issues

Many people struggle with sleep issues, but for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), the rest and renewal of a good night’s sleep can be exceptionally elusive. On September 7, Dr. Sanjay Yathiraj, a board-certified neurologist with a specialization in sleep issues will discuss “Parkinson’s Disease – Sleep Issues and Fatigue.” Also speaking will be Ericka Roush, who will talk about the University of Florida Brain Donation Program.
The morning event will take place from 9:00 am to noon at Manatee Technical College at 6305 East State Road 70 in Bradenton. The educational event is part of the 2019 Distinguished Speaker Series hosted by Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s. It is free and open to people with Parkinson’s, their care partners, members of the medical community and the general public with registration required. Dr. Yathiraj, of Palma Sola Neurology Associates in Manatee County, graduated from Wright State University with honors and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurology, APBN Neurology Neuromuscular Medicine and APBN Sleep Medicine. He is an associate professor of Neurology at LECOM and he has been selected yearly since 2009 for the “Guide to America’s Top Physicians.”
