CAMDEN — The potential role of meditation and mindfulness in improving quality of life for those with Parkinson’s disease will be the topic for the Parkinson’s Support Group meeting Tuesday, Nov. 7, from noon to 2 p.m. at Quarry Hill. Individuals living with Parkinson’s, as well as their family members and caregivers, are welcome to attend.
Transpersonal therapist Jean Forest, RN, MA, will discuss basic meditation and mindfulness techniques that anyone can do and explain how making time each day for such practices can improve overall well-being.
During the second half of the meeting, participants will honor Parkinson’s caregivers with surprises and treats, in keeping with National Family Caregivers’ Month.
The Parkinson’s Support Group meets at Quarry Hill on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings typically feature an educational component, followed by small-group discussion. Attendees are generally encouraged to bring bag lunches, with Quarry Hill providing beverages and desserts.
