Robin Williams: Actor Remembered On His 64th Birthday

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since we lost Robin Williams. We’ll never forget that beautiful comedic voice, especially today, July 21, on what would have been his 64th birthday.

Robin Williams took his own life in August 2014, and the world just hasn’t been the same ever since. The beloved comedian and actor was a force to be reckoned with, a source of happiness for anyone who watched his films. Now, what would have been his 64th birthday, is the perfect time to remember the man we loved so much.
Robin’s death was utterly shocking; the man who made the whole world laugh was hurting so much inside that he committed suicide. It’s so hard to imagine that we didn’t get to see Robin’s smiling, kind face as he celebrated his 64th birthday. It was revealed that Robin’s had been suffering from dementia and hallucinations, likely due to his medication to treat Parkinson’s Disease — a devastating thought!

While Robin’s departure has dominated our thoughts about the late actor in recent months, it can’t be how we remember him! He was a truly talented man without peers; everyone wanted to be as skilled as Robin, and everyone loved him deeply. From films like Jumanji, to Mrs. Doubtfire,Flubber and Night At The Museum, Robin rarely had a movie that didn’t become a classic. The star, who got his start in the 80s TV show Mork & Mindy, was always a riot.

Our beloved Genie was also a gifted dramatic actor, too. It’s pretty impossible to not think “O, Captain, My Captain” without tearing up. In Good Will Hunting, the role that won him an Oscar, he stunned as a professor just trying to figure things out for himself.
Robin’s Lasting Legacy
Robin left behind three children — Zelda, Zachary and Cody — and his wife, Susan Schneider. We can’t imagine how they must be feeling on their loved one’s birthday; especially as they approach the anniversary of his death. Robin was an incredible man, the winner of five Grammys, four Golden Globes, two Screen Actor Guild Awards, two Emmys, and that Oscar.
