LAS CRUCES - The Parkinson’s Disease Support Group of Southern New Mexico is hosting a Parkinson’s Symposium on Saturday, Oct. 14
It will take place at the Las Cruces Home Builders Association, 2825 N. Main Street, Las Cruces.
Registration is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The event starts at 9:15 a.m. and runs until 2:15 p.m. A continental breakfast and box lunch sponsored by Medtronic will be provided.
A series of speakers will present on different topics, and a demonstration of the exercise program "Rock Steady Boxing" is planned.
An on-line registration with lunch choice can be accessed at www.pdsgsnm.org or call Sarah Stegall at 575-496-2550 or Jon Roberts at 702-217-0450 to have a registration form mailed. The deadline to register is Oct. 6 for a lunch request.
The symposium is free; however donations are accepted.
About 60,000 people in the U.S will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s this year, highlighting the importance of awareness and education about the disease.
