The Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis did the largest epidemiology study of Parkinson’s in the United States. Other countries may have similar studies but I haven’t been able to find. There seems to be geography clusters in the Midwest and the Northeast where the density of Parkinson’s is more pronounced.
These two regions of the country are the ones most involved in metal processing and agriculture and the use of chemicals in these agriculture fields which could be the strongest environmental risk factors for Parkinson’s disease.
It is reasonable to assume environmental factors such as exposures to herbicides, insecticides in farming and metals copper, manganese and lead utilized in industrial production could contribute to the risk of Parkinson’s disease. Go to the free web site www.parkinsonslifestylemanagement.com.
