The Parkinson’s Support Group will have three concurrent individual meetings, followed by a group session from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 21, at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2100 Tice Valley Blvd., in Walnut Creek. All are welcome. No reservations are needed and there is no charge.
From 9 to 10:15 a.m.:

From 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., groups will assemble in the Oak Room where the PNMD library with books, fliers, videos, etc. is open. There will be refreshments, with food provided by Cindy Gershen using recipes from Dr. Steve Blake’s book, “Parkinson’s Disease: Dietary Regulation of Dopamine.” There will also be a welcome for new members and announcements.
A program by Dr. Steve Blake, “The Latest Research on Neuroprotection: Diet and Dopamine in Parkinson’s Disease,” is slated from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. in the Oak Room. Blake worked as faculty nutritional biochemist at Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience, and completed a clinical study at Hawaii Alzheimer’s Disease Center.
