'He was inspiring' Bob Hoskins 'never complained' during Parkinson's battle, daughter says

May 30, 2016

BOB HOSKINS was "resilient" until his death from Parkinson’s disease back in 2014, his youngest daughter has revealed.

Rosa Hoskins has opened up about her dad Bob's Parkinson's battle
Rosa Hoskins said her father was more concerned for their family rather than himself as he battled the condition, following his diagnosis in 2011.
The 33-year-old has opened up about what the late actor went through in her new book, It’s All Going Wonderfully Well.
As well as talking about his "strength", Rosa discussed her fears for the day that he didn't know her name.
"When he was ill he showed what he was made of. The strength and bravery he exhibited was incredible. I was amazed by his resilience. It was so inspiring," she wrote.
The actor's daughter said he never complained about the disease
Rosa continued in an extract published by the Daily Mirror: "Even though he was staring down the barrel of something so horrible he never complained and he was an easy patient.
"And he wasn’t concerned about himself he was just concerned about how it would affect all of us, his family, especially mum."
Bob, who has three other children, had Lewy disease, an aggressive and untreatable form of Parkinson’s.

Rosa went on to state that losing his memory proved the most painful part for the Who Framed Roger Rabbit star.
"That was the biggest change in him. Your memory makes you the person you are. I dreaded the day when he forgot my name, thankfully that never came. Writing the book was about preserving what memories I could," she added.
Bob is also father to Alex and Sarah from his marriage to Jane Livesey, as well as son Jack with Linda Banwell.
It’s All Going Wonderfully Well is out now.
