3 Signs You Have a Vitamin B12 Deficiency

November 2016

This is  a Sample of Vitamin B-12 Deficiency. Always talk to your Doctor. A blood test can be taken to see if you need Vitamin B-12.

B12 is an important vitamin to consume that allows the body to function efficiently throughout the day. Vitamin B12 is found in tuna, raw cheese, lamb, and cottage cheese, but can be difficult to absorb with age in the diet. For those who may have a B12 vitamin deficiency, there are a few common signs to look for.

1. Fatigue
You may be extremely tired throughout the day even though you've gotten eight hours of sleep. If vitamin B12 is not obtained, it prevents red blood cells from carrying oxygen to your organs. This will often lead to fatigue if you don't have enough oxygen in your cells, which can affect your concentration and energy levels. The fatigue will also be accompanied by a number of other symptoms.

2. Your Tongue Looks Different
Half of people who suffer a vitamin B12 deficiency often have a change in the texture of their tongue, which can become smooth and is no longer bumpy. The papillae is known to disappear if there's not enough B12 in the body, especially around the edges of the tongue. You may even experience a burning sensation on the tongue, which can cause you to lose your taste due to taste buds that are affected. Many people may no longer enjoy their favorite foods and can even lose weight due to less food consumption.

3. Your Eyes Don't Feel Normal
A lack of B12 is known to cause optic nerve damage in the body and can even cause blood vessels in the retina to become plugged over time. You may begin to suffer from double vision or have difficulty with your vision. Some people even begin to see shadows that affect the field of vision, which is a common sign of retinol damage. Even more shadows may begin to develop until you increase your vitamin B12 levels.

Although it can take time for many people to notice that they may have a vitamin B12 deficiency, there are many signs that you may not be absorbing it in the body. You may also not be consuming enough foods that are rich in the vitamin, which will affect many areas of the body. By taking a daily supplement and increasing your consumption of B12 foods, you can reduce the risk of damage that occurs in the body and can increase your well-being
